Do you have to trim woodwick candles?

Keep your wooden wick trimmed to about 0.5mm after each use and remove burnt wood from previous use. Tunneling makes it harder for wax to melt on the outer edges of the glass, so your candle either burns straight down and wastes tons of wax or simply goes out completely because no fresh oxygen can flow in. Always cut your wick before each use and remove all charred wood from previous burns. If the wood is not trimmed short and clean, the wax can’t get into the flame and your candle won’t stay lit.

Do you need to trim WOODWICK candles?

Large, untrimmed wicks create hotter and bigger flames, meaning your candle burns faster and turns your dollars into soot and smoke. You can do this by using a wick cutter or when the candle is cold, tap your finger on the excess wick. After you’ve done this ritual, and the next time you shorten your wick, you’ll find it’s less brittle, making it easier to try to break off too much. At The Wood Gifts, you can purchase a wide range of WOODWICK candles to enhance the atmosphere in your home.

If you haven’t burned your WOODWICK candle for the required time so that the melted wax extends all the way to the sides of the glass, the candles will then tunnel the candlelight pool wax down the middle of the glass instead of tunneling down the glass.

How can I make my wooden wick burn better?

If you’ve ever bought a candle that smells good at first but hasn’t done much after burning, you have a problem with your hot throw. You’ll always want to try out a few different wicks and then run a burn test to determine which one works best for your candle project. Use a long match or lighter and start from the corner of the wooden wick to start your first fire. If you haven’t burned your WOODWICK candle for the required time so that the melted wax extends all the way to the sides of the glass, the candles will then tunnel the candlelight pool wax down the middle of the glass instead of tunneling down the glass.
